Wenvoe ladies “Tuesday Group” began almost 40
years ago when a group of young mothers decided to get together in
the Church Hall on a regular basis in order to socialise without the
children.
Over
the years the membership has grown to its present 48 members,
although they are now not young mothers with young children!
The
group continues to meet on the first and third Tuesday evening of
the month, but the meetings are now held in the Wenvoe Village Hall.
We have an active committee of 12 members who, between them, arrange
an interesting and varied programme.
We have
two sessions in the year
—
the first is from September to December
and the second from January until May. Throughout these sessions we
have a variety of speakers and we also go on visits, including the
theatre. We have speakers who give talks on all kinds of subjects,
ranging from history, health matters, social issues, holidays and
many more. Often talks are illustrated with slides or films, and
occasionally we have demonstrations.
