Mothers Union

Christian care for families’ world wide

The Branch here in Wenvoe is made up of mainly elderly ladies who meet at least twice every month.

We support the Church locally and at Deanery and Diocesan level attending many Services, social functions and fund raising efforts.  Coffee Mornings are held to raise money for our charities: i.e.:

An Overseas Fund which send monies where the need arises abroad.
A Emergency Relief Fund which can be quickly and easily sent to anywhere in the World.

The Diocese has a caravan which is kept on a site at Coney Beach, Porthcawl and is available for underprivileged families to have a holiday. We contribute each Year to its upkeep and provide some spending money. We often have a Speaker at one of our meetings and the other we attend a Corporate Communion Service and meet afterwards for coffee and a chat.

In the Deanery there is a Prayer Circle where we pray for sick or members who need our prayers. We all know each other very well and so are able to look out for each other. We take part in Village events and our members are often in the Church Hall making tea and coffee. We are linked with a Branch in Port of Spain, Trinidad and we have regular contact with them.
