Wenvoe Ladies Choir

The Ladies Choir originally started as an Adult Evening Class for men and women in 1970, but the few men that were interested dropped out after a few weeks. Three years later the classes ceased and the Ladies Choir carried on independently.

They were 12 in numbers at the start and met in the flat above the Village Shop. There are now 25 members with ages ranging from early 20's to late 70's. They meet weekly under the excellent guidance of their conductress and pianist Mrs Diane Normansell, assisted by Mrs Susan Lewis.

They hold a Summer and Christmas Concert each year in the village both of which are very well attended. They have also sung in churches, over 60's clubs, retirement homes and nursing homes and even Harry Ramsden's Fish Restaurant. Their repertoire ranges from Sacred, Secular, Modern, Pop and songs from Films and Musicals.

Nobody needs an audition to become a member. Just a love for singing.
